APEDA Export finance for Promotion of Quality and Quality controlThis post explains about different export financial assistance provided by Agricultural Process and Export  Development Authority (APEDA) for promoting export quality of goods.

 


Now let us discuss APEDA’s financial assistance for Promotion of Quality and Quality control. Under this category of financing to exporters for Promotion of Quality and Quality control, 7 categories of financing are arranged.

 


(1).Financial  Assistance for installing quality testing equipment

Under this category of financing exporters, an amount of 50% of the cost subject to a ceiling of Rs 25 lakh per beneficiary is given by APEDA. The Quality standards should be adhered to for availing the subsidy.


(2) Financial Assistance for installing quality management, quality assurance and quality control systems such as ISO series, HACCP, BRC, GAP, etc. including consultancy, quality improvement and certification etc.

Under this category of financing by APEDA to exporters, 50% of the cost subject to a ceiling of Rs 5 lakh per beneficiary is allowed.


(3) Finance support for  Activities related to standardization and quality control such as preparation of quality assurance manuals, guidelines, documents, standards, upgradation and recognition of labs for export testing, certifying exporters as premium quality exporters etc. pesticide management program, national and international standardization activities

Under this section, 100% of fund is allowed for APEDA


(4) Financial assistance for Upgradation of APEDA recognized labs for export testing

 

Under this category of financing, 50% of the cost for private labs; 75% for State Govt. /University lab; and 100% for the Central Government labs are sanctioned. Such finance for export testing is subject to a ceiling of Rs.75 Lakh.


(5) Financial help for  Testing of water, soil, residues of pesticide, veterinary drugs, hormones, toxins, heavy metal contaminants in agricultural produce/ products "including all fruits and vegetables, processed fruits and vegetables, other processed foods, floriculture, animal products, cereals etc.

Under this section of financing to exporters, 50% of the total cost is allotted, subject to a ceiling of INR 5000/- per sample (pre-negotiated price with APEDA) in case where residue monitoring activity is proposed by APEDA.


(6) Financial Support for adoption of global standards for traceability

(a) Financial assistance to exporters for Registration for Global Company Prefix Number (GCP): 25% of the fee subject to a ceiling of INR 1 lakh per beneficiary is allowed for registration for global company for exporters.

(b) Financial support to exporters for Registration for Electronic Product Code (EPC/RFID): Rate of 25% of the fee subject to a ceiling of INR 1 lakh per beneficiary can be claimed to register with Electronic Product Code (EPC/RFID)

(c) Financial assistance to agricultural exporters for Registration for GLN for farmer clusters/ (Internal Control System) ICS: 25% of the total cost incurred by exporter subject to a ceiling of INR 1.5 lakh per ICS are allowed to claim from APEDA. (The ICS is a cluster of farmers consisting up to 500 farmers for certification of organic cultivation).

(d) Financial support to exporters for Procurement of equipment (specialized hand held devices) for capturing farm level peripheral coordinates: 25% of the cost of equipment incurred by exporter/certification body/ laboratory subject to ceiling of INR 2.50 lakh can be claimed from APEDA for procurement of equipment for capturing farm level peripheral coordinates.


(7) Financial support for Setting up/upgradation/expansion of laboratories by APEDA or any other Government or Public Sector agency
 

100% grant in aid is allotted by APEDA for setting up/expansion/upgradation of laboratories by APEDA or any other government or public sector agency.

kiran: We are planning to export vegetables like capsicum to Dubai and Gulf countries. we have inquiry with CHA for the same. CHA is asking for APEDA registration certificate for Airport registration. kindly advised us for the same APEDA certificate is required or not. APEDA is having Rs. 5000/- registration fees. We are just starting the business, hence all expense are matters for us.
