Notification no 45/2018 Customs date on 23rd May, 2018

 

Seeks to increase tariff rate of basic customs duty (BCD) on Walnuts in shell [0802 31 00 ] from 30% to 100% and increase tariff rate of basic customs duty (BCD) on Protein concentrates and textured protein substances [2106 10 00] from 30% to 40% by invoking section 8A (1) of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975.

Notification No. 45 /2018 – Customs

 

 

 

New Delhi, the 23rd May, 2018

 

G.S.R. (E). - Whereas the Central Government on being satisfied that the import duty leviable on goods falling under heading 0802 31 00 and 2106 10 00 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), should be increased and that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action.

 

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 8A of the said Customs Tariff Act, the Central Government, hereby directs that the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act, shall be amended in the following manner, namely:-

 

In the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act,-

 

(i)    in Section II, in Chapter 8, against tariff item 0802 31 00, for the entry in column (4), the entry "100%" shall be substituted.

 

(ii)   in Section IV, in Chapter 21, against tariff item 2106 10 00, for the entry in column (4), the entry "40%" shall be substituted.
