CUSTOMS Notification No 17 of 2019 dated 15th June, 2019

 

Notification no 17/2019 Customs date on 15th June, 2019

 

Seeks to further amend notification No. 50/2017-Customs dated 30.06.2017 to implement the imposition of retaliatory duties on 28 specified goods originating in or exported from USA and preserving the existing MFN rate for all these goods for all countries other than USA.

(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of  the

Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and sub-section (12) of section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 50/2017-Customs, dated the 30th June, 2017, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), videnumber G.S.R. 785(E), dated the 30th June, 2017, namely:- 

In the said notification,-

(a) in the Table,-

 

(i)  serial number 14A and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted;

 

 

(ii)

after serial number 24A and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number

 (b) for the second proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted namely:-

 

“Provided further that nothing contained in entries against serial numbers 21C, 21D, 24A, 24B, 26A, 32A,177, 177B, 249A, 250A, 371A, 371B, 376A, and 377A of the said Table shall apply to goods originating in the United States of America.”;

 

(c) the third proviso shall be omitted.

 

  1. This notification shall come into force from the 16th day of June, 2019.
