Can goods of different buyers to one country under one shipment be shipped?

This is one of the common questions in exporters and importers in International Trade. Can an Exporter consolidate shipments of other exporters and send to one location or multiple locations?

A registered consol agent can ship goods of different buyers to one country under one shipment.   Goods meant for different buyers can not be shipped under one shipment to one country, unless otherwise you are a registered consol agent. The Can goods of different buyers to one country under one shipment be shipped said consol agent should have different office at different customs location. The consol freight forwarder moves the whole consignment to one customs location in the said country and files Import General Manifest at the said one destination customs location. The console agent split out all goods separately meant for other customs location in the country under customs supervision. The said freight forwarder arranges to move the cargo to respective customs location under customs supervision. After arrival of goods at each customs bonded area location, the consol agent office at each location files another consol IGM at destination customs location. The importer files bill of entry based on both IGM and completes import customs clearance procedures.

Hrishi: I am planning to import a electric guitar from USA to India. This is for personal use only. I am not a company intending to re-sell or a professional musician.I came across your website and it had a lot of information about importing to India. I have some questions, please do answer them 1. If I get the item shipped to me in Bangalore via DHL/Fedex etc how is customs clearance done? Will FedEx/DHL themselves clear customs (I will of course pay the required duty) 2. If I bring it with me when I go for a trip what details do I have to fill out for customs - do I need anything besides the original receipt? 3. If the item in question is used and not new (example - used guitar) will the customs accept a receipt from the seller? In this case the seller will be either a shop or a individual. 4. Is CVD chargeable if the import is for personal use (i.e. not commercial) ? 5. What is the duty for importing a, electric guitar to India?
