GST tariff rate for Technical Testing and Analysis ServiceTechnical Testing and Analysis means any service in relation to physical, chemical, biological or any other scientific testing or analysis of information technology software or any immovable property, but does not include any testing or analysis service provided in relation to human beings or animals; Explanation.—For the removal of doubts, it is hereby declared that for the purposes of this clause, “technical testing and analysis” includes testing and analysis undertaken for the purpose of clinical testing of drugs and formulations; but does not include testing or analysis for the purpose of determination of the nature of diseased condition, identification of a disease, prevention of any disease or disorder in human beings or animals. [Section 65(106) of Finance Act, 1994 as amended] "Technical Testing and Analysis Agency" means any agency or person engaged in providing service in relation to technical testing and analysis.

 

Goods and Service Tax (GST) rate tariff in India is designed in 6 categories of goods and services.  Four main GST rate slabs framed with Essential goods and services, Standard goods and services and luxury goods and services with 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% respectively.  Commonly used Goods and Services at 5%, Standard Goods and Services fall under 1st slab at 12%, Standard Goods and Services fall under 2nd Slab at 18% and Special category of Goods and Services including luxury - 28%.   The most essential goods and services attract nil rate of GST under Exempted Categories.     Luxury goods and services and certain specific goods and services   attract additional cess than 28% GST.

 

The exempted categories under biological scientific testing or analysis of any immovable property service is being published by GST authorities soon, where no GST is payable for such categories of service.  You may read GST exemption list of services, once published.

Mr. S.M.Pakhare: Respected Sir, In Maharashtra, there are 34 public health laboratories. They analyse the food,water,Alum,bleeching powder samples.before gst they charged the samples as below:- 1.For food samples-Rs.260/+service tax(service tax not collected where the turnover of lab was below 5 lac per anum) 2.water testing charges:-for chemical testing Rs.600 for bacteriological testing Rs.340 3.for alum :- Rs.600+ service tax Now how much GST should we collect?
